About this song
Before Facebook, before MySpace, there was AreYouKhmer.com.
"Met You on KL" is a late-90s Khmer R&B duet about the nightly ritual so many of us grew up with: dial-up screech, heated forum threads, love poems posted for the whole site to see, rap battles at 2 a.m., checking who's online, and refreshing until that one reply came in.
AYK launched in 1999 and later became KhmerLife. Strangers became friends, friends became family, and more than a few of us met someone special there. This one's for everyone who logged in and never really logged out.
