4:42Are You Khmer?
ខ្មែរឬ?
Ballad · Golden Age
The story
Forty years ago they got married in a refugee camp. Borrowed shirt, borrowed sampot, barefoot on red dirt, and no music except one old grandma singing so they could dance.
Today it's their kid's wedding. The band starts a slow one, and he walks over to her table with white hair and bad knees and holds out his hand.
Dance With Me One More Time (រាំជាមួយបងម្ដងទៀត) is a slow Khmer country ballad for every Khmer couple who came here with nothing, worked two jobs, fought through the hard years, and never let go of each other's hand.
